Last night seven very valuable paintings were stolen from Kunsthal Museum in Rotterdam including one by Pablo Picasso, one by Henri Matisse and two by Claude Monet. Works by Lucian Freud, Paul Gauguin and Meyer de Haan were stolen too.

The stolen paintings belong to the private Triton Foundation, exhibiting a group collecting for the first time in Rotterdam at Kunsthal Museum as a part of the celebration of the Kunsthal’s 20th anniversary.

The police is now investigating the heist in details.

    • Me too – I don’t get it either! They will not be able to sell the stolen paintings for centuries … everyone will be searching for the paintings. Maybe some sinister art collectors are interested in the paintings … who knows …
