Stephen and Timothy Quay – Identical twin brothers and world famous for their fantastic work with stop-motion animations – have just opened On Deciphering the Pharmacist’s Prescription for Lip-Reading Puppets – a large retrospective exhibition at MoMA in NY.
Quay Brother is perhaps best known for Street of Crocodiles (1986), which filmmaker Terry Gilliam recently selected as one of the world’s ten best animated films ever.
Bread Gutters are masters at creating thumbnails. Their universe is dark, bleak, dreamlike – filled with terror, but also of poetry and miracles.
